On the 25th and 26th of September 2017, an international conference organised by NaWiKo, titled „SustEcon Conference – The contribution of a sustainable economy to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals,” will take place at the Freie Universität in Berlin, Germany. Submission window is open from March 15th to April, 25th.

The sharing economy is a global phenomenon and it seems to be here to stay. However, our understanding of its organisations, practices, processes and impacts is still in its infancy. In his Master's Thesis, Mario Stehling investigates user perceptions in the Sharing Economy and how they are influenced by different kinds of information. The survey will take 7 to 9 minutes to complete. Mario Stehling is a student at the University of Mannheim and writes his Master’s Thesis at the Institute and Chair for SME Research and Entrepreneurship.

The conference especially welcomes contributions from any academic discipline that address the challenges and dynamics of the economic, political, legal and social institutions of our time. Keynote speeches will be given by Johanna Mair (Hertie School of Governance Berlin, management), James Robinson (University of Chicago, politics) and Juliet Schor (Boston College, sociology). Abstract submission deadline is March, 13.

What's Next? Disruptive/Collaborative Economy or Business as Usual? These questions will be addressed at the Society for the Advancement of Socio-Economics (SASE) Conference 2017 in Lyon. The deadline for submitting proposals is February 3, 2017.

Is the sharing economy a paradigm shift? How does it disrupt established industries? What does the sharing economy mean for urban development? We are glad to be able to discuss these and other questions at the conference and to present our work from the i-share project.

Diese Fragen haben sich die rund 80 Teilnehmer beim zweiten i-share Symposium in Augsburg am 5. Oktober 2016 gestellt. Vertreter aus Praxis, Politik und Wissenschaft haben über die Bedeutung von Gemeinschaft und Community, die Rolle digitaler Technologien sowie über Vor- und Nachteile von Netzwerkeffekten und Wettbewerb diskutiert.
